In Loving Memory of…

Am/Can. OTCh. Sunfire’s Blazing Comet, UDX2, JH, WC, GRCA ODHF

April 26, 1992 ~ July 28, 2006

Haley

Sire: Am/Can. CH. Clark Sunfire’s Bullseye, CDX, JH
Dam: Sunfire’s Christmas Blitz

Haley was purchased from Gwen Stone, Barb Biewer and Mike Book (Sunfire Golden Retrievers).  I remember calling Barb looking for a golden puppy.  Mary Hilderbrandt suggested her.  I remember going through an old Golden Retriever News and seeing an ad with this dog.  I marked the page and really did not think to much about it.  I was impressed with this dog…C
H, CDX, JH, WCX and Canandian titles.  This dog turned out to be Haley’s father Winchester.  My stepfather and I traveled to CT.  I was able to pick from 3 girls.  I asked Barb how the puppies puppy tested.  Barb stated that they pretty much tested all the same, but felt this one little girl had more potential.  I said ok and took this little girl home.  This little girl was Haley.
Haley was truly my once in a lifetime dog and I can never replace her.  She loved doing obedience and field work.  I couldn’t have asked for a better companion.  Haley brought me into the world of competition obedience.  She was a dynamite in her day.  Haley loved to heel.  Haley was my first UD, UDX, JH, OTCH, GRCA ODHF, tournament placing dog and High In Trial dog.

I will never forget the day that Haley finished her OTCH.  She was so proud of herself and put on a performance of a life time.  Haley won Open B with a 199 and took High-In-Trial.  What a way to finish!!  In November 2002, Haley was retired from obedience and finished her final weekend of competition with a High-In-Trial…what a way to finish a wonderful obedience career.  In retirement, Haley’s job was to just hang out at the shows, beg for cookies and attention.  Haley loved to put smiles on peoples faces and there were many faces that she did that to.

Everything Haley did, she did with ease. She was such an easy dog to train. I loved to train and especially to show Haley. She was like my glove. Haley tried very hard at everything she did.
I am lucky to have Haley’s son, Spencer. I will cherish every single day that I have with him and her adopted son, Parker. The boys are going to miss her very much, but most of all I will miss her even more. I was hoping that Haley and I would have had another year or more, but that did not happen. The girls are now running and swimming their little hearts out. Thank you Haley for everything, but most of all just being the best friend a girl could have. You truly are the “Blazing Comet”. I miss you with all my heart, sweet Haley.
